Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes that Manchester United are in danger of falling out of the running for the Premier League title, with the Blues eight points clear of their northern rivals.

The England international has been in scintillating form for the Stamford Bridge outfit this season, providing the goals and assists to help his team top the rankings with a third of the campaign already played.

Lampard was prominent again yesterday as Chelsea turned Blackburn Rovers over on their own, sodden patch.

Nicolas Anelka fired a brace at Ewood Park, one of which was laid on by Lampard, to open up an eight point gap between Chelsea and last year's title holders, Manchester United.

The Red Devils lost pace with the Pensioners and Liverpool on Saturday when they succumbed to Arsenal at the Emirates.

United have now lost twice in the Premier League this season, and Lampard believes that Sir Alex Feguson's side can ill-afford to drop many more points.
